Potter's Clay - from the day he hit the ground... We were on the fence regarding showing him as he was smaller in stature due to some early issues and poor vet advice that also should have made his fleece tender, etc. He was looking so nice, we decided to give him a try at a local show. He received rave remarks immediately at check-in from some industry experts. In the ring he took a first place with comments from the judge that they were sorry there weren't enough for a championship as they very much appreciated his luster, density... As part of group of Get of Sire, again the judge singled him out as reason for placing them in 1st place. At the California Classic, he took a Reserve Championship as the only previously shorn in the ring! Again as part of group for "Get of Sire" Vortex, his sire, won his second consecutive 1st place!

His dam by the phenomenal Apache, let both color and traits of sire pass as evidenced by her first crias. His sire, MacGyver's Vortex, is result of a linebreed on MacGyver who boasts Accoyo Belmonte and is a top 5 EPDs, #1 in the nation consecutive years now AFD and spin. When you know what you are breeding is true, you can get a genetic jump forward in not only that offspring but the next generation. Skeptical on linebreed? Come see for yourself, extremely dense, silky, flat lovely locks that have that cool, slick feel! Really beautiful rickrack looking fleece that is so slick it makes a dream to have - hardly any vegetable matter sticks! Luster so amazing his fleece looks like liquid gold.

Add to that the results of his histogram, 2nd shearing 15.9 AFD & 3.9 SD! top 1% EPD for AFD & SF and if you do the math for SDAFD almost tops. This years histogram micron was up just a bit at almost 3-years-old 18.4 AFD 4.4 SD ! He is Mr. F.I.N.E. especially in a suri and of his rich color. If you consider the dark brown color in his pedigree having this fine of fleece is downright remarkable. Spring 2016 shows were good to him. He took a 1st at California Classic, a 2nd at GWAS and then a 1st at CABA, with comments from the judge, beautiful luster, great density of lock, AND (drum roll please) very well grown. The guy he won a first place over is a multi-champion from a top notch Suri breeding program and Potter is over 3 micron's finer. I just entered some of his fleece in our first spin off and he missed 1st place by one point due to my lack of knowledge in preparation. Great comments on his fleece once again.

His first cria was just born July 2017 - gorgeous & certainly full of luster, will need some time to evaluate how he develops. Contact us if you are interested in seeing what he can do for your herd.
