Unabashedly I fell in love with this guy on a casual stroll through the show grounds in Denver, CO. When I was asked if I wanted a closer look, I thought why not, just looking. Then of course couldn't stop thinking about him. His fawn sire at almost 3 years of age 17.6 micron with 4.2 SD and extremely bright & crimpy. (I wanted to post pictures of both of their fleece shots but couldn't choose a picture to delete of Romeo himself! Needless to say, I pressed the "buy" button.

Zurich is just one of those girls you think is special just looking at her. She is a gorgeous color and has a special story and place in her prior owner's heart partly due to the TLC that she needed early on. We feel fortunate to have added her to our foundation.
For her first breeding we decided to take a gamble on color and bred her to our dark fawn guy BOA's Aslan. Something in their faces and stature just spoke to me as being a good pairing. I was pretty certain when seeing ... |

Props to this guys momma. We think that she is one of the cutest alpacas around and so do others. Not once, but twice with different males, she has birthed babies loaded with fleece and we mean really loaded, besides absolutely adorable ! We loved this guys older sister and thought about a repeat breed but decided to go for a bigger sized guy.
Zurich, his dam is dark silver grey, with great fleece coverage but she is petite or height challenged, so we chose tall, dark and handsome Dancing Elk's Romeo. We are not sure if this guys fleece will go rose grey and honestly we don't care. With his coverage and wrinkled body, despite his small size at start, he looks like future herdsire material to us.
We need to upload video of his bright springy, crimped fleece - it is so heavy. You open up that fleece and the crimp and bundles abound !
We refer to Romeo's Raise the Roof as Roofus. He is big in personality so let's hope he grows into it.
We showed him at Gold Country Gathering and he took a first place in Bred and Owned and a 3rd in walking fleece. Even though he got a 3rd he actually scored higher than two of our 2nd place winners - very commendable scores 19/20 in fineness handle 7.5 uniformity of micron and brightness 8 in crimp... We entered him at GWAS and he took a 1st place in his class against industry greats. His fleece score was commendable especially in the color black. We are so excited about the fineness & secondary to primary ratio. With grey in his pedigree we hope he continues to grow up beautifully.
