True black with a little bit of spice, as in personality and grey potential. When you are searching to add "just one" more to the herd and decided on a huacaya, true black with grey potential. Actually her sire is what had us check out this girl - 15 X Champion Kit Carson is still knocking it out of the park with the greys. We appreciated her black, bright crimpy fleece (Love to process the true black fleeces) Soft and natural black is always a winner!

Added to that we are so thankful that looking at her introduced us to the wonderful people that bred and birthed her - she will always be special to us for that reason.

For Pepper's maiden voyage we bred her to Solaris, a true black Snowmass Nova grand son. He has maintained nice fineness while aging, which we hope he will pass to their cria. Despite their cria being born prematurely, he thrived with minimal intervention. With us fussing over him it made her a bit nervous and we were afraid he wasn't getting enough milk so tried supplementing. When he was rejecting it and gaining we just let them be and they have been great ever since. So far he is the smallest we have ever had, but he is large in personality and energy. Take a look at Solaris and Pepper's Siracha, we are very tempted to hang on to him and see how he develops. She really seemed to settle in and enjoy motherhood and we actually caught her racing and playing with some of the crias.

We just confirmed a pregnancy for a 2019 cria. She was bred her to the multi-champion London Dairy Ra this year. He is fawn with one grey in his pedigree. While we are experimenting to see if they may produce a modern grey. He is also one of the largest guys in the pasture with nice density and uniformity that has remained consistent through the years. While we are excited to see what this pairing may bring, we are offering Pepper for sale. We happened to acquire another true black female as part of a package purchase that can be bred to our grey herdsire that happens to be Pepper's half brother. So we feel we can part with Pepper to the right buyer.

Let us know if you are interested in seeing her.
