AWH Lacey has always been darling with a soft black muzzle and super SHINY dark brown fleece. Her luster comes from her wonderful sire AWH Storm Front (now owned by Randy and Janis Bass) and the dark, rich color from her beautiful MacGyver/Mahogany Prince mommy, La Petite Sirah.

We just love the color and the feel of this girls fleece. Our daughter had pointed out Lacey out of all the ones she remembered on the ranch. So we were quite happy when given the opportunity to snatch her up. As she developed she began looking more show-worthy. When Lacey showed the first time, I was taken a bit by surprise when she took a 1st and then a Reserve Championship! I think surprise was from the fact that not only was she in the ring with winners from previous shows, but the fact that the judge didn't seem to give her a 2nd look over. We surmise that is because she was an obvious winner to the judge, who's comments were great conformation and fluidity of movement along with luster & fineness. She then took 2nd at the Great Western Alpaca show with comments from the judge of great fineness, luster and density just lacking a little in substance of bone. Next season she showed at the California Classic in which she finished off her show career with another first place and nice remarks from the judge! Fleece at 22.1 microns in this rich of a dark brown, with astounding luster! Her yarn turned out so beautiful.

Besides being an award-winning female, she is a sweetheart. She is truly loving being a mother and doting on her baby. Since she delivered a girl that is already looking show-worthy so we think we may keep for our foundation, we are offering Lacey for sale. She could sell outright in early spring (unless you board at Alpacas of Windy Hill, then you could buy her sooner). Trying to stick with a business plan for expanding the herd focusing on grey is difficult when they are this beautiful.

She is confirmed pregnant by the beautiful GLR Armani. While, not sure if they will produce one of Armani's signature fancy freckled rose grey's, no matter the color we expect it will be a beauty. Let us know if you are interested in seeing the lovely Lacey.
