This is the first cria born on our farm in 2009. We picked out his mom, Cimarron Shadow, who was bred to MFI Toledo. Boy did we hit the jackpot. This boy has coverage from his eyes to his toes. Granite has sure grown into a wonderful boy. He has beautiful grey fleece that is very crimpy with good staple length. He has complete coverage from his eyes to his toes. He has the same gorgeous typey head like his dad, Champion Gray MFI Toledo of Whispering Willows in Indiana.

This guy's dam is one of the cutest alpacas around. Not once, but twice with different males, she has birthed babies loaded with fleece and we mean really loaded, besides absolutely adorable ! We loved this guys older sister and thought about a repeat breed but decided to go for a bigger sized guy. Zurich, his dam is dark silver grey, with great fleece coverage but she is petite or height challenged, so we chose tall, dark and handsome Dancing Elk's Romeo. We were not sure if this guys fleece... |

We didn't know in summer of 2017 when we picked up two girls from Dancing Elk alpacas that we would be back again so soon. When we saw firsthand how they are cared for, recognize the integrity and discernment made in a breeding program, we literally said we want to buy more but needed to sell some first (Imagine that concept) Fortunately it worked out. We just love Isabella's maternal grandmother and we feel so very fortunate this girl was available.
Isabella, as beautiful as her name - Beautiful black out of silver grey parents. Information off of Dancing Elk's site her sire, Argenta Granite passes on consistent crimp and long staple length to his multiple, award-winning offspring.
To accentuate her beauty, she has extreme presence. Nearly always prances up to the fence with her tail held high to greet visitors.
At the Great Western Alpaca Show 2017 she took a 1st in halter out of 11. Then in 2018 she took a 3rd in halter. She then took a 1st place in walking fleece above average scores in density and crimp/character, absence of guard hairs, uniformity. She received maximum score in uniformity of color (big hooray in true black) and 16.5 of 20 fineness/handle (a 19-20 AFD noted) AND a 7.5 of 10 in brightness! We recently decided to not only focus on uniformity of micron but more on brightness along with conformation. If looking at her beautiful head, bright fleece is not enough, "touch" her. We could not stop touching that blanket. Her histogram 21.7 micron with a 4 SD. Nice uniformity especially coming from two grey parents!
Her first cria was from a fine, uniform grey Kit Carson son. They gave us a beautiful silver grey girl with a little black bolero jacket pattern. A definite keeper! Next breeding we sent off Isabella to breed to Champion El Dorado's Captain Jack Sparrow, a Blackbeard son.
This past year we decided to breed her to Romeo's Raise the Roof before he left for Tenessee. Hoping they took
