Potter's Clay - had our hearts from the day he hit the ground. We were newbies and on the fence regarding showing this guy. He was visibly smaller in stature due to some early issues/poor vet advice that also should have made his fleece tender. Yet, he seemed to rebound and was looking nice enough that we decided to enter a show. He received rave remarks at check-in from some industry experts. Then, in the ring he took a first place with comments from the judge that they were sorry there were... |

This guy was the first cria expected by our amazingly fine-fleeced, Reserve Champion, Potter's Clay. To top that, he ended up being born on my mom's birthday! While my dad was hoping we would name after him, we decided naming from one of his favorite music groups. Hence, our "little deuce coupe" aka Couper. I'm not bragging babe so don't put me down... He's my little deuce coupe - you don't know what I got...
His sire, Potter's Clay, has awesome EPD stats & amazing fineness, still holding under 20 micron at 4 years old. The fleece evaluator for the Suri Herd Improvement Program exclaimed when she touched Potter, "I could keep my hands in this fleece all day" - he received a maximum score on handle with a note "Holy handle!"
We suspect couper's fleece is on his way to developing similar attributes. Couper not only has an adorable smile, fleece with nice luster and that lock structure that I love so well, but also a gorgeous head!
Hayven, Couper's dam, is a beautiful robust-framed, champion. Her fleece stats at 2 years of age we micron 21 AFD & 5 SD so we were hoping not too far of a micron gap that would bring nice uniformity to their offspring.
Couper took 2nd places in 2017 both in halter and in walking fleece with judges comments on his extremely fine fleece with nice luster (score of 17/20 in fineness/handle and 7.5/10 in lock structure) Tender fleece was noted but so were fine secondary fibers.
Look at that picture or video of his fleece coming off - slick, shiny - stunningly fine. With his grand dam being of Kobe lineage and black, he may compliment color for breeding.
Let us know if you are interested in him - we may loan him to the right home.
