Hollyhock is out of Hope's Sonrise, a medium silver grey that has quite a bit of medium silver grey on both sides of her pedigree. Hollyhock's sire is Boreas Sirocco. "Rocky" took a first place at Nationals! He throws a lot of fine, dense fleece. Though we have seen him throw beautiful silver grey when bred to grey more than once, he threw black for this pairing. Someone commented that she matched her mother's one black ear lol. We stumbled across a hollyhock flower in black and had a little flower theme going that year. She is one of the smaller alpacas on our ranch. She has a sweet personality! She always comes up for camera photos or video. We used her for Open Ranch events to greet the people in the past.We recently bred Hollyhock to GLR Armani. Every time we walk him I am reminded why I love him so much, he is so easy going. Besides, when he does silver or rose grey he does it so beautiful - though he also had a champion son in Brown. Any color combination from this pairing should be nice.
